Cardiac Output Monitor National Survey (RAFT project). SPARC contributed data from five centres to this national survey that has been submitted for publication to perioperative medicine.

The POPULAR study is an ESA sponsored European observational study. It is on the NIHR Portfolio that means it has been deemed an important study to be done in the UK. A few centres in Wessex were participating and more were needed. SPARC members set up and ran the study in three hospitals in Wessex. Between them Salisbury, Basingstoke and Portsmouth recruited 293 patients to POPULAR. SPARC members were allowed to be registered as the Local Lead Investigators for this study.

SNAP-1 study is the Sprint National Anaesthesia Project, a pragmatic evaluation of patient reported outcomes after anaesthesia, specifically patient satisfaction and patient reported awareness. Managed by the National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia – Health Services Research Centre (NIAA-HSRC), in conjunction with the UCL/UCLH Surgical Outcomes Research Centre (SOuRCe). Funded by an NIAA administered grant provided by the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA).
